Water Channel on Jalan Karang Anyar Normalized

Normalization work towards water water channel along Jalan Karang Anyar, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta conducted. The channel malfunc tioned is due to sediment and trash been piled up for ages.

Relaying on Beritajakarta.com's observation, one heavy equipment has been sent to unload the channel.  The Infrastrucuture and Public Facility Handling (PPSU) officers conducted manual dismantling to clean it.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede said the current study is also being carried out to let vehicles passing by on that road and suppress street vendors (PKL)  number which still rampant at night.

"From the residents’ complaint  revealed that street vendor often operate at 1 AM thus the place looks dirty and slum," he told, Sunday (11/1).

After the improvement, it is expected all channels around residential area would be free from flooding. "We'll add more heavy equipment to expedite the work considering rainy season is about to coming," he expessed.

Sawah Besar Sub-District Head,  Martua Sitorus stated 154 joint personnel are deployed to the field. They are Youth Group (Karang Taruna), PPSU officers, Cleanliness Freelancer (PHL) and local residents involved the cleaning.

"We’ll fix this, thus floo can be minimized in future," he finished.
